The 2014 AFR DesignSPARK National Networking Tour kicked off in Orlando this past Thursday and as expected, it was a blowout event with 500 industry guests on hand to see how the AFR Orlando team would out do themselves this year.
Welcome to Blueprint: Furniture Exposed!
Our idea was to give guests a glimpse of some of our internal processes as well as the schematics of our furniture pieces. We accomplished this by incorporating deconstructed furnishings and single elements throughout the event design to bring the concept to life. Metro Sofa frames showed the beginning, middle and end stages of upholstery. On Z-racks were strips and samples of our leather and fabric labeled with names for guests to see and feel. Even our invitations were deconstructed and required assembly. Our blueprint design offered a deeper glimpse into the style and quality that AFR offers its clients through a deconstructed furniture experience.
New products spark new ideas, and in Orlando, guests got a preview of some of our newest arrivals and products that are coming down the pike including the Aspen Table, The Aria Collection, Spectrum Table, iPad Stands, the Regale Chaise and the Reverse Continental Curve Loveseat with Red Slip Cover (Florida only) to name a few.
Design lounges featured unique set ups that incorporated different pieces from AFR Collections interspersed with architectural elements.
Design Lounge 1 featured Chateau Sofa with Hex Tables, Elan Chairs and Turquoise Pillow Accents for a rustic styled setting.
Design Lounge 2 showed the versatility of the Grammercy line with a sectional constructed from a Corner, Sofa and Love Seat and accessorized with shaded Orange Pillows as well Reno Glass Top Tables, Illusion Gray Rug, new Gold Leaf Tables, and White Ibizia Chairs.
Design Lounge 3 used the armless Function Chairs with Club End Tables on a Black Illusion Rug with Black and White Patterned Accent Pillows and Sophistication Ottomans for a trendy club feel.
Design Lounge 4 showcased a combination of the Regale Sofa and Half Whisper Banquettes with Rose and Zanzibar accent tables and Pink and White Pillows for a unique mix of texture, color and style.
Providing a focal point for the room, the main stage was backed with a Pillow Wall and centered on the stage was a furniture wall constructed from bars, sofas and ottomans with the AFR logo. To take it over the top, during the evening, a splashy custom 3-D Digital Projection piece came to life through imagery of furnishings being built, exploding and rotating all set to the beat of high-energy music. Stunning floral throughout the venue added the finishing touch of color and texture. Each floral piece was architectural in nature. Our favorite was an oversized floral tree with hanging dollhouse ornaments. Love!
A Wire Bender Artist created custom wire pieces for guests, which tied perfectly into the deconstruction theme. It was interesting to watch and a popular hit throughout the night.
This year’s Orlando Networker, was filled all kinds of sparks and was truly a team effort thanks to our partners and sponsors!
We’re off and running for our next tour dates in Dallas and Baltimore.
