At AFR, we love partnerships, and it is always a fun time when we do our annual Boston Networker in collaboration with our strategic partner Rentals Unlimited.  For us, it means that we get to work with some of our favorite people – Larry Green and David Price – as well as see innovative design in action.  As always, David’s creative brilliance is inspiring and showcased both of our products to perfection while transforming the Pavilion (a tent structure) at the Boston Westin Waterfront Hotel.

ConceptSPARK

This year, we focused on infusing our two product lines together to create a unique and creative atmosphere for guests. David Price’s ability to design on-the-spot worked beautifully to create a visually innovative evening filled with sparks of design, inspiration, and creativity.

The weather wasn’t playing to our favor that evening, but the environment inside the room was beautiful and warm. The evening provided a true distraction from Mother Nature’s fall temper tantrum.

Inside the clear span structure, things were anything but stormy.  Overhead, a beautiful fabric draped ceiling was lit in different hues of soft color with pattern overlays while down the center of the room lay a white glossy catwalk. From the front to back and top to bottom of the room, everywhere one looked there was color, design, and inspiration.

Take a look at this beautifully designed vignette which included the Regale Sofa and Chaise with Mon Tables atop Grass Rugs.  RU used their White Versa Table surrounded with Square Backed Chippendale Clear Chairs.  Another round guest table was topped with Apple Green and Turquoise specialty linen and surrounded by Avocado Chrome Legged Jetson Chairs and finished with white china, clear and milk glassware, and stunning floral in crème and apple green. To add an organic finishing element, AFR’s Butterfly Tables provided the perfect touch.

White leather Empire Chairs on a black glossy dance floor combined with Gold Leaf Tables and Zinc Cocktail Tables created the anchor point of our next design area. An orange draped community table with a white top was surround by RU Regency Bar Stools and topped with modular cocktail floral in glass cylinders.  Another table draped in antique gold sequin linen was coupled with wooden Plymouth chairs and styled with low-lying, rich toned floral and magenta napkins.  It was stunning!

The stage at the back of the space featured the new Essential Charging Station and Hylton Tables on one side while the other side featured the Chandler Collection with AFR's new Aria Tables. A very cool backdrop created from different geometric shaped frames covered in linen swatches created a very distinctive and creative way to feature product as décor.

Another vignette showcased an Ashbury Table surrounded by Rattan Chairs topped with an array of artichokes, vintage wrought iron glass candle-lit lanterns, and wooden containers filled with fall colored floral. The place settings featured fine silver edged bone china with silver chargers topped with textured napkins embellished with a fresh fig creating a rustically elegant setting. Nearby, a round guest table featured a faux alligator topper and matching chair caps.  Rich chocolate and burnished copper toned dishware and napkins, cherry red floral, and flickering candles completed the design.

Another lounge setting featured AFR’s sumptuous brown leather Parma Collection paired with our Gold, Fuchsia, and Green Phoebe Tables topped with green, fuchsia, and white custom branded AFR and Rentals Unlimited pillows.

An RU black Versa Table topped with White Gloss Candelabra, and a soft-toned fresh floral runner ran down the center of the table. Place settings featured Chevron patterned gold chargers and silver accented napkins. AFR Elio Chairs and RU ivory cushioned Regency Chairs finished the look.

While we are only showing you some of the highlights, the environmental design couldn’t have been more beautiful!

FunSPARKS

The design wasn’t the only thing that was over the top.  There were plenty of other surprises for guests.

POP! People “greeted” guests as they came in the door and registered while a DJ played live music all evening and kept the energy going.  A photo lounge provided an interactive element for guests to stop and get a fun photo taken for a take home memento of the evening with the Red Chandler Collection on stage as the backdrop.

The menu included Mini Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches, Veggie Shooters, Tuna Tartare, and Potato Croquettes along with wine and beer.

The winner of the TSE Full Education Package and ticket to the Opening Night Party at the 2015 The Special Event Conference and Trade Show was Salvatore DeGeorge, Director of Catering Sales at Taj Boston. Congratulations!  We’ll see you in sunny California in January, Salvatore!

The evening was great and filled with more DesignSPARKS and networking than ever. The Boston Networker was truly a successful team effort thanks to AFR’s Boston team, Rentals Unlimited team, and our generous partners and sponsors!
