“AFR^® Chicago was challenged by Team Dallas for AFR’s 2017 Regional Challenge. We accepted and got to work! We decided to build bags filled with goodies for foster children and donate these items to Volunteers of America.

Approximately 15,000 children are in foster care at any given time in Illinois because of abuse or neglect. VOA recruits and manages a network of foster homes specifically trained to meet the special needs of children in foster care. They are committed to pursuing the best permanency option for each child which may include reunification, adoption, or independence.

Team Chicago raised money through personal donations from our amazing group of employees to purchase drawstring bags, toiletries, and fun items for 48 children! In addition, we purchased underwear, diapers, baby wipes, and socks + collected a ton of baby items for the organization to distribute as needed.”
